Architectural vision

At first glance, a building should be like a powerful image imprinted on your mind. Then, when you look again, you see more: a discovery, more depth, more detail, more awareness. These are the two moments we want to express in our architecture.

Pleasure in designing and spatial planning inspires us. The premise for A&E Architecten is to respond effectively to the market with tailored designs. We monitor commercial, social, cultural and technological developments. Sustainability is one such current example. In all of this, interaction with the client is of essential importance when finding a good starting point for a design.

Identifying ever-changing circumstances gives buildings a recognisable position in our history. Rather than being a stuffy image of the past, this history places buildings in our cultural heritage. The interaction between primary classical and modern values and the use of new materials, techniques or contemporary shapes is our source of inspiration.

A&E Architecten is part of BAM Advies & Engineering, an engineering firm with a staff of over 110 representing various professional disciplines. This gives A&E Architecten access to several specific qualities. Depending on the nature of the project, the emphasis can be on a collaborative approach with various other disciplines within BAM Advies & Engineering. For instance, builders, sustainability engineers, installation technicians, cost experts and execution technology or plan development staff can work together ‘in-house’.

This allows us to explore and push forward the boundaries between these areas of expertise and so develop new and innovative technical solutions. It adds value to project and process control. We work with passion and enthusiasm in architecture, with each new task leading to an inventive and creative design. By approaching the task in this way, we create architectural wealth.
