[EN] This is a sketch design that was presented as an optimized and contemporary alternative to the original tender design.
In our vision sports is social event and an expression of civilization. It gives joy to the viewers and unites the people of the world. Sports buildings should be inspiring places, impressive to look at and a proud landmark of every modern city. Sports buildings are exciting places to meet, enjoy fantastic events and create business opportunities.
Obviously these buildings should be functional and well designed in an economical way. Safety and logistics must have the highest standards. This is the ‘hardware’ of the building, it facilitates sports as a social event. The architecture on the other hand should enhance the emotional aspects of the building.
While approaching the stadium from the parking the emotion starts to build up: The façade is made of a curtain of stainless steel. The space under the stands is thus transformed into an outdoor lounge, where people can meet and wait in anticipation of the game. Shaded light fills the space. From there people enter the ‘bowl’ of the stadium, which is designed as a compact rounded shape to express the feeling of unity among the spectators and sportsmen.
The business and VIP entrance is located on the first floor in the front of the building. Cars can drive up the ramp and drop off the VIP guests. This is a theatrical entrance where people can watch and be seen.
The diagonal glass façade of the business club forms a welcoming gesture, while a curved roof focuses on the entrance of the building. Inside this roof shape there is a VIP lounge, which looks out over the surrounding area via an oval shaped glass façade. The functional spaces of the stadium are located in the plinth of the building. A special room is added on the first floor as a closed golden box.
This modern design combines futuristic organic shapes with classical principles. It will be more than just a stadium due to the theatrical appearance. The elegant curves contrasted with strong grid facades make it beautiful to look at and will give pleasure and pride to all who use this building.
[NL] In onze visie is sport een sociale gebeurtenis en een uiting van beschaving. Het geeft vreugde aan de kijkers en verenigt mensen wereldwijd. Sportgebouwen moeten ontworpen worden als inspirerende plekken, indrukwekkend om naar te kijken en een ‘landmark’ zijn van elke moderne stad. Sportgebouwen zijn enerverende plekken om te ontmoeten, te genieten van fantastische evenementen en een plek om zakelijke kansen te creëren.
Uiteraard moeten deze gebouwen functioneel en op een economische verantwoorde manier zijn ontworpen. Veiligheid en de logistiek moeten voldoen aan de hoogste normen. Dit is de 'hardware' van het gebouw, het faciliteert sport als een sociale gebeurtenis. Anderzijds moet de architectuur de emotionele aspecten van het gebouw versterken.
Bij het naderen van het stadion vanaf de parkeerplaats begint de emotie al op te bouwen: De gevel is gemaakt van een gordijn van roestvrij staal. De ruimte onder de tribunes is getransformeerd in een outdoor lounge, waar mensen elkaar kunnen ontmoeten in afwachting van het voetbalspel. Gedempt licht vult deze ruimte. Vanuit hier komen de mensen in de 'kuip' van het stadion, welke is ontworpen als een compacte ronde vorm om het gevoel van eenheid tussen de toeschouwers en sporters uit te drukken.
De business- en de VIP-entree is gelegen op de eerste verdieping aan de voorzijde van het gebouw. Auto’s komen via de hellingbaan aanrijden en kunnen de VIP-gasten voor de deur afzetten. Dit is een theatrale entree waar het draait om zien en gezien worden. De diagonale glazen gevel van de business club vormen een uitnodigend gebaar, terwijl het gebogen dak zich richt op de ingang van het gebouw.
Binnen deze dakvorm is er een VIP-lounge, waarin men uitkijkt over de omgeving via een ovaal vormige glazen gevel. De functionele ruimten van het stadion bevinden zich in de plint van het gebouw. Een speciale ruimte is toegevoegd op de eerste verdieping in de vorm van een gesloten gouden doos.
Dit moderne ontwerp combineert futuristische organische vormen met klassieke principes. Het zal meer zijn dan alleen een stadion vanwege de theatrale uitstraling. De elegante rondingen in contrast met het stringente grid in de gevels maken het mooi om naar te kijken en zal veel vreugde en trots geven aan allen die gebruik maken van dit gebouw.
